Willough Jenkins BscPharm MD FRCPSC

Dr. Willough Jenkins is an award winning Canadian and American board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child psychiatry and also trained as a pharmacist. She is a healthcare leader serving as the medical director of the Psychiatric Emergency and Consultation Liaison Service at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego.

With her dual training, Dr. Jenkins provides compassionate, evidence-based care to some of California’s most critically ill children. She serves on national committees shaping mental health policies and advocates at the state senate for improved children's mental health services. As a researcher, she has contributed to several publications in academic journals, furthering the understanding of children's mental health.

Dr. Jenkins has a regular segment on CBS 8 San Diego, where she demystifies child mental health topics for the public, and she frequently contributes to other local and national TV channels. Her expertise spans all forms of media, and she has been featured in national outlets like Time Magazine. As a strong educator to both health care professionals and the public she is also a sought-after speaker at conferences. In partnership with the World Health Organization, Dr. Jenkins uses social media to reduce stigma, promote early identification and prevention of youth mental health issues, and combat misinformation.
